HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10011991 - 2.1 TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS Contra FROM: Costa Phil Batchelor, County Administrator Count DATE: fr�S.''ciii; t October 1, 1991 SUBJECT: 1991 CSAC Challenge Award Finalists SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS ACCEPT County Supervisors Association of California letters informing the County that it has been selected as a FINALIST in two categories of the 1991 CSAC Challenge Awards competition and AUTHORIZE the County Administrator to take actions necessary to assure appropriate County participation in the awards presentations and related exhibits. BACKGROUND The Board of Supervisors, on July 16 , 1991, authorized the County Administrator to submit on behalf of the Board six applications to the County Supervisors Association of California (CSAC) 1991 CSAC Challenge Awards competition. One application was submitted for each of six categories. on September 10 , 1991 CSAC advised the Board that the County was selected as finalists in two of the categories: Administration of Justice, for its "Diversion and Alternative Programs" and Housing, Land Use and Transportation, for the "County General Plan. " By becoming a finalist, the County has assured itself not only the recognition of its excellence in public service but the opportunity to share its success with other counties. Grand Prize winners will be announced during the Challenge Awards presentation November 14 , 1991. The County Administrator' s office will coordinate the activities to comply with the competition requirements.
