MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: January 8, 1991 SUBJECT: APPROVING Utility Adjustment Agreement for Empire Avenue Reconstruction Project No.: 0662-6R4032-89, Oakley Area. SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action:, APPROVE the attached Utility Adjustment Agreement between the Oakley Water District and County of Contra Costa and AUTHORIZE the Board of Supervisors Chair to sign. II. Financial impact: The County shall be fully reimbursed by the Oakley Water District for the actual contract cost of the work plus 10% for Administrative and Construction Engineering costs. IIt. Reasons for Recommendations and Background: The Utility Adjustment Agreement is needed to facilitate the relocation of a 12" Oakley Water District water main during the reconstruction project. The water main is located in a portion of the project that would make coordination of the work difficult with two separate contracts. IV. Consequences of Negative Action: If the Agreement is not approved the construction of the project may be delayed.
