SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
Support H.R. 413, legislation to permanently authorize the federal
low income housing tax credit, and authorize the Chair to sign
letters to County's legislative delegation.
FISCAL IMPACT
None.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS : . .
The 1986 Tax Reform Act established a new tax-oriented program to-{
assist low income housing - the low' income housing tax credit. The
credit was authorized only through 1989. The low income housing
tax credit is now accepted in the development community. The above
referenced bill would permanently authorize the low income housing
tax credit.
