SUBJECT: Permanent Authorization of Single Family Revenue Bonds (S.
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATIONS
Support 5. 167 legislation to permanently authorize Single Family
Mortgage Revenue Bonds, and authorize the Chair to sign letters to
County's legislative delegation.
FISCAL IMPACT
None.
BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS
Contra Costa County has affirmatively addressed its low and
moderate income housing responsibilities through, among other
things, the issuance of Single Family Mortgage Revenue Bonds. Over
$350 million in below-market rate mortgages have been provided to
first-time home buyers. The authorization to issue such bonds
expires 12/21/91. S. 167 would permanently authorize the issuance
of such bonds.
