IV. REASONS FOR RECONNM(DED ACTION. The Administration for Children and Families has allocated $3,423,429 for Contra Costa County to provide Head Start services to 872 program-eligible children and their families for the period of January 1, 1992, through December 31, 1992. The Department expects formal notification by the end of December, 1991. To permit a smooth transition from 1991 to 1992, it is recommended that the Auditor-Controller's Office be directed to advance County funds to the above-referenced Contractors for 1992 program activity pending receipt of Head Start funds. This request is made in the event that grant approval is not received by the end of December. These contracts will be reviewed and approved by County Counsel as to form prior to issuance.
