DATE: December 3, 1991
SUBJECT: WRITE-OFF OF DELINQUENT BUCHANAN FIELD AIRPORT ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE
SPECIFIC REQUESTS)OR RECOMIVI MNIION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
AUTHORIZE Public Works Director to write-off delinquent accounts receivable for the period April
1; 1990 thru October 31, 1991 in the amount of $2,578.85.
ll. Financial Impact: .
.There will be a reduction of expected revenue for the fiscal year due to this recommendation.
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
Approval of the recommended action will allow approximately 8 delinquent accounts to be
written-off and purged from the active file. These write-offs can be summarized as follows:
Balance of $50 or Less (Total - $73.00) Delinquent accounts with balances of $50 or less are
recommended for write-off because further collection efforts cannot be justified. Some of these
accounts are out of state and therefore are very hard to follow up on.
Determined Uncollectible by Collection Agency (Total - $753.85) The Office of Revenue
Collections has returned these accounts to the Airport as uncollectible.
Bankruptcy (Total -$1,680.00) Tenants have filed bankruptcy and balance has been determined
to be uncollectible.

Transient Aircraft (Total - $72.00The billing name and address for aircraft parked in transient.(visitor)
parking is taken from the Federal Aviation Administration aircraft registration microfiche which is the most
current available information. Many times the bills are returned as undeliverable or addressee unknown.
In some cases, the record shows "Sale Reported". Some of these accounts are out of state and therefore
are very hard to follow up on.
