SUBJECT: Approval of Contract Amendment Agreement #24-301-23 with Center for
Human Development
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Chair to execute, on behalf° of the County, Contract
Amendment Agreement #24-301-23 effective November 1,1991, to amend Contract #24-
301-22 (effective July 1, 1990 through June 30, 1992) with Center for Human
Development, which provides services for the "School-Based .Community Primary
Prevention Project (Youth Educator Program and "High Risk Youth" Project) .
Approval of this Contract Amendment will decrease the payment limit of the
Contract by $2,757 from $184,928 to a new Contract Payment Limit of $182,171.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The State Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs has issued an Allocation Notice
which reduces the state and federally-funded Youth Educator Programs for FY 1991-
92 by $2,757. The two-year payment limit is decreased from $184,928 to a new
total Contract payment limit of $182,171. (The automatic contract extension
[from July 1, 1992 - December 31, 1992] amount is also reduced, from $46,232 to
a new total payment limit of $44,854. )
There is no change in FY 1990-91 funding for this Contract. No County funds are
required.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
The County's School-Community Primary Prevention Program has been funded by the
State Since 1983. In addition, the County receives Federal funds to provide
prevention services to high risk youth.
The Contractor has agreed to continue activities in full force without
disruptions in spite of the reduced funding.
