Federal Challenge Grant funds to be awarded to the Social Service Department. The grant funds will be placed into the County' s children trust fund programs during the federal fiscal year 1991/92 . FINANCIAL IMPACT: No General Funds required. This grant will provide continued revenue for use in child abuse prevention programs. BACKGROUND: The Federal Challenge Grant Funds are used in conjuntion with state child abuse funds, birth certificate fees and Anne Adler Children and Family Trust funds to provide a variety of services used for the prevention of child abuse. Programs include: child care, family and children' s counseling, and programs related to substance abuse and the abuse of children. Currently, the FACT Committee is overseeing the award of these funds and planning for the future use of these funds.
