BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Unless there is a clear indication of a threat to life or a health hazard providing the same, there are no provisions in the County ordinances that allow for summarily abating such a situation. Ordinarily, obtaining a Court injunction is a time consuming process and often the violator has completed the offending action. I believe the County should pursue immediate injunctions to halt work when there is an obvious and purposeful disregard for County ordinance - such as when our Building Department has "red-tagged" a project and the construction still continues. i' CONTINUED ON ATTACHMENT: YES SIGNATURE: / RECOMMENDATION OF COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR RECOMMENDATION OF BOARD COMMITTEE APPROVE OTHER SIGNATURE(S) ACTION OF BOARD ON November 27, 1990 APPROVED AS RECOMMENDED _1and OTHER X Also, DIRECTED County Counsel to develop a policy that would insure communication between departments and consultation with County Counsel prior to action being taken; and REQUESTED staff to review implementation of the citation program.
