Effective November 1, 1990, the following performance pay plan is adopted for certain management classes in the County Personnel Department. 1. The following classifications are reallocated from five (5) step salary ranges to six (6) step salary ranges (deep classes) which contain 5% between all steps, and all current incumbents be reallocated from the current 5 step range to the new 6 step range at their existing step. Effective November 1, 1990 for all current incumbents and thereafter on any incumbent's merit review (anniversary) date, the Director of Personnel may, based upon an evaluation of the employee's work performance, award one additional step for outstanding performance above the normal permanent step except that in no case may a permanent step be awarded above step five (5) or a performance step awarded above step six (6) . Continued placement at a performance step shall be at the sole discretion of the Personnel Director who may rescind the performance step effective the first of any calendar month based upon an evaluation of work performance. 3. Except as specified above, all provisions of the County Salary Regulations are applicable to the deep classes listed in Section 1. C. 1. Effective October 1, 1990, mileage allowance for the use of personal vehicles on County business by all classified, exempt and project management employees and unrepresented employees; but excluding Department Heads noted below, shall be paid in accordance with the following per month formula: 1 - 400 miles $ .26 per mile 401 + miles $ .20 per mile 2. Effective October 1, 1990, Members of the Board of Supervisors, the County Administrator appointed Department Heads and elected Department Heads shall be eligible to receive a monthly automobile mileage allowance of $ .23 per mile. 3.
