SUBJECT: APPROVE AND AUTHORIZE THE CHAIRPERSON TO EXECUTE PROGRAM
SUPPLEMENT #081 FOR THE OVERLAY ON CAMINO TASSAJARA ROAD

SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
Approve and authorize the Chairperson to execute Program Supplement #081 which providing
$347,773.00 in Federal Aid Secondary (FAS) funds for the overlay on Camino Tassajara Road
from Highland Road to Alameda County line.
II. Financial Impact:
The supplement provides reimbursement from FAS funds for eighty-six percent of the County's
estimated costs for the project. The remaining fourteen percent will be collected from state
matching funds.
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
On June 21, 1977, the Board approved County-State Master Agreement No. 04-5928 for the
funding of Federal Aid Projects.
On May 9, 1989, Contra Costa County qualified for Federal funds to overlay with base
reconstruction on Camino Tassajara Road at Highland Road to Alameda County border.

Caltrans and the Federal Highway Administration have determined that the County can be
reimbursed for the County's estimated construction and construction engineering costs for the
project.
The County Transportation Committee reviewed this item on October 15, 1990.
IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
If the program supplement is not approved, the County will have to absorb the entire cost of
construction and construction engineering for this project.

The supplement provides reimbursement from FAS funds for eighty-six percent of the County's
estimated costs for the project. The remaining fourteen percent will be collected from state
