Bragdon '�f�;�'•' Ccnt Director of Conmiunity Development costa DAA: October 30, 1990 ` court / r^ ciir soBiEcr: Byron Airport Acquisitions SPECIFIC REQUEST S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS Approve purchase of property in the vicinity of Byron Airport; and authorize the Auditor-Controller to issue a warrant to the Clerk, Superior Court in an amount not to exceed $287, 000. 00 FISCAL IMPACT Net Fiscal Impact to the General Fund is zero. The County Redevelopment Agency is repaying a portion of its debt to the County in order to provide the General Fund with new money from which to complete this transaction. BACKGROUND/REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS The County is actively in the process of acquiring properties adjacent to the existing Byron Airport for future airport use. The County is utilizing FAA funds for the majority of the property acquisition. One property (parcel 2 on the attached map) is ineligible to be purchased with FAA funds. The property could prospectively be purchased for non-airport functions. Such a purchase could represent an investment for the County. The County can purchase this property through a default judgement for $285, 000. 00 plus accrued interest of 82% per annum from the date of entrance of the default judgement (October 10, 1990) . The County must purchase this property through the court on or before November 8, 1990.
