TO: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
FROM: J. MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR
DATE: October 23, 1990
SUBJECT: 1990-91 Miscellaneous Land Surveys and Drafting Consulting Services Agreement, Geo-
Topo
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) &BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action:
APPROVE the Consulting Services Agreement with Geo-Togo for surveying and drafting services
on "as needed" basis on various Public Works projects and AUTHORIZE the Public Works
Director to execute the Agreement.
II. Financial Impact:
The maximum payment limit is $25,000.00. The payment limit will not be exceeded without
written approval by the Public Works Director. These services will be funded by various sources
depending on the specific projects worked on. It is anticipated that a majority of funds will come
from road funds.
III. Reasons for Recommendations and Background:
The Public Works Department has a temporary need for additional land surveys and drafting that
cannot be accomplished by their own forces in a timely manner. To maintain project schedules
outside services are necessary.

IV. Consequences of Negative Action:
If additional land survey and drafting services are not secured, County road projects could be
delayed. On projects under construction, such delays could also lead to claims against the
County for right-of-way delays.
