CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
IN THE MATTER OF PRESENTING )
A CERTIFICATE OF APPRECIATION ) RESOLUTION NO. 90/6 5 7
TO WREN AVENUE SCHOOL )
FOR THEIR PARTICIPATION IN )
THE EAGLE FLIGHT PROGRAM )
Governor George Deukmejian has declared the week of October 7-13, 1990 as Aviation-
Aerospace Week in California. The goal of Aviation-Aerospace Week is to increase public
awareness of the regional, state, and national benefits of the aviation industries. This is
being done through various State-sponsored programs. One such State-sponsored program,
of which Buchanan Field Airport is actively involved, is Eagle Flight. The primary purpose
of the Eagle Flight Program is to bring classroom teachers and airport managers together
in an effort to introduce aviation-aerospace into the classroom. The Contra Costa County
Eagle Flight Team includes Airport staff, Mt Diablo School District teachers, airport
businesses and flying associations.
Without the support of the Wren Avenue School and its Principal, Joan Evans, the efforts
by Jim McDonald, Eagle Flight Aviation Educator of the Year, in developing Aviation and
Aerospace Education programs within the school would not be possible. The Contra Costa
County Board of Supervisors recognizes the support given to Jim by the Wren Avenue
School and commends Ms. Evans and its administrators on their recognition of the value of
including these programs within their curriculum.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors presents this
Certificate of Appreciation to Wren Avenue School.
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON October 9, 1990 by a unanimous vote of the Board
