Costa County Board of Supervisors 500---East-Le land —Road,—Suite1e0: Pittsburg, CA 94565 Dear Supervisor 'Torlakson: We need your help in securing an extension of the Road Closure Permit issued to T&S Construction Company for Sunset Road in Brentwood. The current. permit allows for closure of Sunset Road through Tuesday, October 2 , 1990. In . retrospect, our contractor, had not anticipated delays- in constructing this portion of the sanitary sewer. Besides PG&E halting ' construction for eleven days, our contractor has experienced soil conditions which required modifications to his operation. Though our contractor has been working twelve hours per day and six days per week, the current construction will require an additional five weeks of closure. Our contractor, City staff, the construction managers, and County Public Works staff met on September 26, 1990., to discuss this issue. All parties agree that a 24-hour road- closure must be maintained to insure public safety while the remaining 1, 000 feet of sanitary sewer are installed. _. S.inc-e..seeral,.mator deveopents require this line to be installed, it is imperative that no other delays are encountered. As the'-Road Closure Permit expires on October 4, 1990, I am requesting that this issue be placed on the Board Agenda for the October 2 , 1990, meeting, allowing an additional five weeks to complete the work on Sunset Road.
