I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
1. APPROVE Agreement For Legal Services with Miller, Starr and Regalia.
2. AUTHORIZE Executive Director to sign Agreement on behalf of the Housing
Authority of the County of Contra Costa.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Payments under this contract will be reimbursed to the Housing Authority from
loan proceeds from the California Housing Finance Agency and California Department of
Housing and Community Development.
III.. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Housing Authority is negotiating with FPI Real Estate Group to construct
and manage an eighty two (82) unit, two-story, independent living, senior apartment
complex for senior citizens and disabled persons with low and very low income. The
devleopment of the project requires the negotiation and preparation of. a number of
ocmplex legal documents, including an integrated development services agreement, an
architectural agreement, a construction contract, a management agreement and a
disposition and development agreement with the City of Antioch to provide for
transfer of title to the property to the Housing Authority and financing. The
services of Miller, Starr and Regalia are required in the preparation of these
documents.
