February as AMERICAN HISTORY ) RESOLUTION NO. 90/62
MONTH in Contra Costa County )
The National Society Daughters of the American Revolution
sponsors February as American History Month each year to
stimulate a knowledge in both young and old and a sense of pride
in our Nation' s great achievements and dedication to liberty.
The backbone of this great nation of America is its history upon
which all of our accomplishments are based. - The DAR wants to
stress pride in the United States of America through community
services in educational programs, essay contests, and historic
tours. Through the study of American History, we are made aware
of the importance of freedom, equality, justice, and humanity.
The importance of remembering American History should be duly
noted.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
proclaims February AMERICAN HISTORY MONTH in Contra Costa
County.
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON January 30, 1990, by a unanimous vote of
the Board members present.
