HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 01301990 - 1.43 1-043 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA' Adopted this Order on January 30 , 1990 , by the following vote: AYES: - Supervisors Powers , Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson, .Fanden NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: In the Matter of Amending ) Resolution 89/684 (Physical ) Fitness Differential for ) Resolution No. 90/ 65 Sheriff's Managers ) The Board of Supervisors adopted Resolution 89/684 on October 24, 1989 establishing pay and- benefits for County Officers, Management and Unrepresented employees, including sworn managers in the Sheriff's Department, for the period July 1, 1989 to September 30, 1991; and The Board of Supervisors adopted on December 18, 1989 a side letter to the 1989-1991 Memorandum of Understanding with the Deputy Sheriff's Association establishing a 5% physical fitness wage differential for sworn employees after completion of 15 years service; NOW THEREFORE, THE CONTRA COSTA COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS in its capacity as governing Board of the County of Contra Costa and all districts of which it is ex-officio governing Boards Resolves That: Effective January 10, 1990 Resolution 89/684 is amended to include the following provisions. III DIFFERENTIALS J. Physical Fitness Differential Sworn management personnel in the Contra Costa County Sheriff's Department in the classes listed below shall be eligible upon completion of 15 years service for a five percent (5%) base salary differential contingent upon_ the employee's good faith effort to maintain his/her physical health in accordance with health fitness standards established by the Wellness Division of the Personnel Department in conjunction with the Sheriff's Department. Classes eligible include: Sheriff-Coroner (6XA1) Chief Executive Assistant Sheriff (6XB1) Assistant Sheriff (6XB2) Chief Deputy Sheriff - Exempt (6XB3) Captain (6XDA) Deputy Sheriff-Chief, Criminalistics Laboratory (6DDA) Lieutenant (6XHA) Deputy Sheriff-Supervising Criminalist (6DHA) All personnel in these classes with at least 15 years service on January 10; 1990 or those attaining 15 years -service prior to October 1, 1991 shall be eligible for immediate receipt of this differential but will be required to undergo a complete physical examination administered by a physician of the County's choice at a designated future date when specific physical standards have been promulgated. The examination will be conducted at County expenses. . RESOLUTION NO, 90/65 � s If the physician concludes the employee does not meet the agreed upon health fitness standards, the physician will prescribe a personalized physical fitness program. The program will be specifically designed to enable the employee to meet the agreed upon health fitness standards. The employee will be reevaluated not later than one year following the date of the initial physical examination. To continue to qualify for the 5% physical fitness differential , the employee must meet the agreed upon fitness standards, or the physician must present written evidence to the Personnel Department, Wellness Division, that the employee has and is making a "good faith effort" to meet the agreed upon health fitness standards. 1 hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of an action taken and entered on the minutes of the Board of Supervisors on the date shown.
