Department Personnel Officer Services
As you are aware, the patient census has risen and remained con-
sistently high over the past two years. The original core staffing
model for nursing services which was developed to meet an average
daily census of 125 is now obsolete. In order to provide mandated
levels of care to the higher level of patient population, we have
relied heavily on overtime and registry. This is not only extremely
costly, it does not provide continuity of care to patients.
In order to stabilize staffing and reduce overtime and the rampant use
of registry, we are proposing to add a total of sixteen Registered
Nurse positions, seven LVN II positions and two Surgical Technologists
as listed on the attached P300.
