SUBJECT: Approve Contract Change Order Number 5 for the Drainage
Area 56, Line Z. Project No. 7566-6D8443-87 in the
Oakley area.
Specific Request(s) or Recommendation(s) & Background &
Justification
.RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE : Contract Change Order Number 5 and AUTHORIZE the Chief
Engineer to execute it in the approximate amount of $15, 000.00 to
compensate the contractor, Holman D. Pettibone, Inc. for increases
in contract work.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The project is funded by Drainage Area 56 of the Contra Costa County
Flood Control and Water Conservation District.
REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Corps of Engineers would not allow the Lindsey Basin Fill area
to be higher than elevation +90. 0 necessitating the spreading of the
excess excavated material outside the original fill area.
CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The lack of APPROVAL would preclude payment for work required to
complete this project.
