MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: January 16, 1990 SUBJECT: PROGRAM SUPPLEMENT #060Rev.1 WHICH PROVIDES FEDERAL AID SECONDARY (FAS) FUNDING FOR PRELIMINARY ENGINEERING AND RIGHT OF WAY FOR THE WIDENING/OVERLAY PROJECT ON LONE TREE WAY FROM EMPIRE AVENUE TO O'HARA AVENUE (PROJECT NO. 0662-6R4010-001) Specific Request(s) or Recommendation(s) & Background & Justification I. RECOMMENDATION Approve and authorize the Chairman of the Board of Supervisors to execute Program Supplement #060Rev. 1 which provides $187, 574 in Federal Aid Secondary (FAS) funds for preliminary Engineering and Right of Way for the widening/overlay project on Lone Tree Way from Empire Avenue to O 'Hara Avenue. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT The supplement provides reimbursement form FAS funds for 86 percent of the County' s estimated costs for the project. The remaining 14 percent will be collected from State matching funds. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND On June 21, 1977 , the Board approved County-State Master Agreement No. 04-5928 for the funding of Federal Aid Projects. The Project is scheduled to be advertised for contract bids in February 1990 . Construction is expected to be completed by July 1990. The County Transportation Committee reviewed this item on November 27, 1989 . IV. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION If this program supplement is not approved, the County will have to absorb the entire cost of Preliminary Engineering and Right of Way for this project.
