HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02271990 - T.4 T. 4 THE BOARD OR SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA Adopted this Order on February 27, 1990, by the following vote: AYES: Supervisors Powers, Schroder, McPeak, Torlakson, Fanden NOES: None ABSENT: None ABSTAIN: None SUBJECT: Hearing on the Countywide Drug and Alcohol Action Plan The Chair convened the hearing to consider placing the Countywide Drug and Alcohol Action Plan on the June 1990 ballot. Following a brief presentation by staff on the scope of the plan, the Chair invited speakers to present their comments on the proposal. The following persons spoke: Charles W. Latting, 4702 Tahoe Circle, Martinez; Howard herbert, 2571 Via Verde, Walnut Creek; George Straka, Citizen's Task Force for a Drug Fee Concord, Concord Police Department, 1950 Parkside Drive, Concord; Lucretia Markham Jones, Contra Costa County Drug Abuse Advisory Board, 3821 Palmwood Court, Concord; Sally Edgerton, 100 Shady Lane, Walnut Creek; Pamm Shaw, Contra Costa Head Start Program, 2425 Bisso Lane, #20, Concord; Beth Schecter, Center for Human Development, (no address given) ; Jeanne Musto, 602 West Myrick, Clayton; Marlene R. Rebhan, 316 Camelback Road, Pleasant Hill; Marylou Scavarda, Alcohol, Drug Abuse and Perinatal Task Force, 595 Center Avenue, #310, Martinez; Tracey Rathray, Interagency Council of Infant Services, 200A Harriet Drive, Pleasant Hill; Jim Rogers, 1205 Melville Square, Richmond; and Lawrench Emerson Gault II, 801 Main Street, Martinez. All persons desiring to speak were heard. Therefore, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERD that the hearing is CLOSED. Board members discussed the comments/suggestions of the speakers for possible inclusion in the Action Plan, but were in agreement to take no action on placing it on the ballot pending final review by the Board. Therefore, IT IS ORDERED that the Board DECLARES its intent to place the Countywide Druge and Alcohol Action Plan on the June 1990 ballot and REQUESTS the County Administrator to schedule the matter for final Board action on March 6, 1990. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the comments/suggestions of the speakers at this hearing are REFERRED to the Health Services Director for possible inclusion in the Action Plan.
