Authorize the release of $116,000 from the reserve/designation in the District Attorney's Office Family Support/Excess SEIF Revenue Fund (Fund 112800) into the fund balance in Fund 112800, District Attorney Family Support/Excess Revenue Fund. 2. Approve appropriations and revenue adjustments to use the released funds for the following: a. Purchase of automated equipment to access the Domestic Relations System, the CDS System, and the State MEDS System. ($86,000.00) b. Purchase and installation of window blinds at Family Support Division, 40 Muir Road, Martinez. ($4,500.00) C. Programming, inventory, space planning, and records management study for the District Attorney's Family Support Division. ($25,500.00) FINANCIAL IMPACT: None. The cost of this equipment and professional services will be paid out of the District Attorney's Family Support Revenue Fund, a fund which may be spent only on the child support enforcement program of the District Attorney. There are sufficient funds in the Special Revenue Fund to defray the costs of these needed items. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND: The District Attorney's Family Support Division is interfacing its operation with the Social Service Department by adding computerized equipment that will also be used for access to the County mainframe and for access to the MEDS System. This computer hardware will also be used in a future automated child support enforcement system. The Family Support Division needs to have a complete space planning program completed and a records management system completed to best utilize limited existing space at 40 Muir Road. These studies and systems must be done in conjunction with the structural reorganization of the Family Support Division staff, and are necessary to the successful reorganization plan. Such inability to pass the audit would cost the County -millions of dollars in withheld AFDC payments.
