SUBJECT: LEGISLATION: SB 1867 (Boatwright)
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S)OR RECOMMENDATION(S)&BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
RECOMMENDATION
Adopt a position indicating that the Board of Supervisors is the
SPONSOR of SB 1867 by Senator Boatwright which would enact the
County' s 1990 Court Pay and Staffing Bill, conforming state law
to changes in the number, classification and pay for court
employees which have already been enacted by the Board of
Supervisors.
BACKGROUND
Each year the Board of Supervisors sponsors a Court Pay and
Staffing Bill, which is generally authored by Senator Boatwright.
This legislation conforms state law to'. changes in the number,
classification and pay of Municipal Court employees and Superior
Court reporters! Senator Boatwright has now introduced SB 1867
to make the changes in state law which are necessary to
incorporate changes which have been made by the Board of
Supervisors over the past year.
In view of the fact that this bill has been introduced at the
request of the Board of Supervisors it would be appropriate for
the Board to indicate this it is the sponsor of SB 1867. All of
the changes which are included in SB 1867 are considered routine.
