Automation and Micrographics Fees '- The Board of Supervisors resolves as follows: 1. Pursuant to the authority in Government Code Section 26863 (b) : a) This Board hereby authorizes a two dollar ($2) fee increase in the Automated Recordkeeping System fee. Effective January 1, 1991, the total Automated Recordkeeping System fee will be three dollars ($3) . b) Pursuant to statute the County will provide a matching amount of $2 from the County general fund, which is equal to the revenue derived from the increase, exclusively to pay the costs of automating the County Clerk and Municipal Court recordkeeping systems or converting the Court's document system to micrographics, or both. C) The two dollar fee increase shall not apply to any claim for money damages filed by a person which is within the monetary jurisdiction of small claims court. Adopt resolution fixing court filing fees for calendar years 1991 and 1992, pursuant to Government Code Sections 68090 and 72056.5. 2. Adopt resolution authorizing an increase in the Automated Recordkeeping System fee from $1 to $3, pursuant to the authority in Government Code Section 26863 (b) . FINANCIAL IMPACT It is anticipated that revenues will be realized at the budgeted levels once these increases are implemented. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION / BACKGROUND Court filing fees are reviewed and adjusted for inflation every two calendar years. The proposed increase for calendar years 1991 and 1992 is six percent. The increase in the automated recordkeeping system fee requires a County match of general fund revenues equal to the amount of the revenue derived from the increase. The estimated $75,000 needed for the match is already budgeted for support of the Municipal Courts ISD civil system and the County Clerk's Case Management System Access Program. Therefore, no additional County funds are required for the match.
