Navlet's Nursery will collect the living trees for East Bay Re-Leaf, and issue a tax deductible receipt for the returned trees. The trees will help East Bay Re-Leaf to meet its commitment to plant 2 million trees in Contra Costa and Alameda counties by the year 2000. Using reusable materials, such as canisters, reusable bags and yarn to wrap presents "emphasizes reuse and source reduction rather than one use items which must be sent to the landfill. Wrapping materials that can be recycled, such as wrapping paper without foil, will also lessen the amount of materials going to the landfill. Purchasing wrapping materials made from recycled materials is also important to increase the market for products made of recycled materials to complete the source reduction cycle. LPA:gms ca:HoGday.bo
