Bragdon, C0inty Director of Community Development " DATE: 22 August 1990 SUBJECT: Hearing on Rezoning Request by SUSAN BAKER (Applicant) , Estate of Ethel Baker (Owner) , (2883-RZ) , requesting approval to rezone .42 acres from Single Family Residential District (R-15) to Limited Office District (0-1) , located at #1523 Treat Boulevard in the Walnut Creek Area. (Parcel #148-270-018) SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOME NDATIONS(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION RECOMMENDATIONS 1. Approve the rezoning as recommended by the County Planning . Commission and staff. 2. Adopt the Planning Commission's reasons and findings as set forth in its resolution No. 44-1990 as the determination for your Board's decision. 3. Introduce the ordinance giving effect to the aforementioned rezoning 2883-RZ, waive reading and fix date for adoption of same. CONTINUED ON ATTACHMENT: _ YES SIGNATURE- RECOMMENDATION OF COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR RE ON O COMMITTEE APPROVE OTHER SIGNATURE(S) : ACTION OF BOARD ON December 11, 1990 APPROVED AS RECOMMENDED X OTHER X On November 27, 1990, the Board of Supervisors deferred to this date the decision on the recommendation by the Contra Costa 'County Planning Commission on the rezoning application ( 2883-RZ) by Susan Baker (applicant) and Estate of Ethel Richards Baker (owner) requesting approval to rezone . 42 acres of land from Single Family Residential District (R-15) to Limited Office District (0-1 ) in the Walnut Creek area. Karl Wandry, Community Development Department, presented the staff report on the meeting with the applicant, a concerned neighbor and staff. He commented on the summary of concerns in the memo to the Board from the Community Development Department dated December 11, 1990, and he recommended that the Board approve the rezoning, adopt the Planning Commission' s findings, introduce the ordinance, and direct staff to flag two particular parcels so that when the development plan comes through these concerns are addressed. Supervisor .Schroder moved approval of the staff recommendations. IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that recommendations 1, 2, and 3 are APPROVED; and as in recommendation 3, Ordinance No. 90-119 is INTRODUCED, reading waived and December 18, 1990 is set for adoption of same; and the Community Development Department staff is DIRECTED to assure that concerns of the neighbors are addressed when the Development Plan application is received.
