Adopted this Order of November 6, 1990, by the following vote:

RESOLUTION NO. 90 679
SUBJECT: Authorizing Director of General Services to
Execute Agreement with California Energy Commission
to Participate in Light-Duty Methanol Fuel Flexible
Demonstration Program.
WHEREAS the California Legislature has determined it to be
in the State' s best interest to pursue the use of clean fuels,
especially methanol, as a means of reducing air pollution, and
has passed legislation for that purpose, Public Resource Code
Sections 25625 and following; and
WHEREAS pursuant to this legislative mandate, the California
Energy Commission has developed a Light-Duty Methanol Fuel
Flexible Vehicle Demonstration Program to foster the use of
methanol ,as an alternative fuel; and
WHEREAS Contra Costa County is desirous of participating in
the California Energy Commission program by acquiring and
demonstrating methanol fuel flexible vehicles;
IT IS BY THE BOARD RESOLVED that Barton J. Gilbert, Director
of General Services, is hereby authorized and empowered to
execute in the name of Contra Costa County an Agreement with the
California Energy Commission and all other necessary documents to
implement and carry out the purposes of this resolution;
IT IS FURTHER RESOLVED that Contra Costa County authorizes
the California Department of General Services and the California
Energy Commission to act on its behalf to obtain methanol fuel
flexible vehicles for acquisition by Contra Costa County.
