Remove this item as a referral to our Committee and instead refer it to the 1990 Internal Operations Committee pending a report on this matter from the Director of Building Inspection. 13ACRGROUND- On July 25, 1989 the Board of Supervisors referred to our Committee the question of adopting the 1987 National Electrical Code. On September 26, 1989 the Board of Supervisors approved a report from our Committee recommending that the Board of Supervisors adopt the 1987 National Electrical Code, as proposed by the Director of Building Inspection, except for a provision that would prohibit the use of "pull-out switches" when used for electrical service. On November 13 , 1989 the Director of Building Inspection indicated to our Committee that he was not prepared to document the need for this particular change to the ordinance code and recommended that our Committee await a further report from his Department. Since we do not anticipate that such a report will be forthcoming before the end of the calendar year, we are recommending that this item be removed as a referral to our Committee and instead be referred to the 1990 Internal Operations Committee so that if and when the Director of Building Inspection is ready to document his recommendation, the matter can be presented to the Internal Operations Committee.
