MICHAEL WALFORD, CHIEF ENGINEER HATE: NOVEMBER 141 1989 SUBJECT: ACCEPT THE SAN RAMON BYPASS CHANNEL REACH II, WALNUT CREEK PROJECT FOR OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE, FLOOD CONTROL ZONE 3B, PROJECT NO. 7520-6B8621 Specific Request(s) or Recommendations) i Background S Justification I. •RECOMMENDATION ACCEPT the San Ramon Bypass Channel Reach II for operation and maintenance. II. FINANCIAL I34PACT The annual maintenance cost is estimated to be $35,000.00. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROIIND The improvement of San Ramon Bypass Channel Reach II was included in the authorized Walnut Cree:C Project in December 1973. In accordance with federal requirements the Flood Control District has provided the necessary rights of way and relocations and paid 7.4 percent of the construction cost . The District is further obligated to maintain the San Ramon Bypass Channel . On February 16, 1989 the Corps of Engineers reported the completion of the project and transferred the channel to the District for operation and maintenance .
