H. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The estimated contract cost of the project is $27,000. It is to be 100% funded by local
gas tax funds.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONBACKGROUND:
Some elements of the existing signal system have become outdated and deteriorated. The
County Traffic Engineer feels that in it's present state the system is inadequate to reliably
or effectively control ever increasing vehicle and pedestrian traffic and finds an upgrade
necessary to reduce accident potential.
The Public Works Director has filed with the Board of Supervisors the Plans and
Specifications for the San Pablo Avenue at Tara Hills Drive Traffic Signal Modification
Project.
The General prevailing rates of wages, which shall be the minimum rates paid on this
project, have been filed with the Clerk of the Board and copies will be made available to
any interested party upon request.
The project has been determined to be in compliance with the General Plan. It has been
determined that this project is exempt from CEQA requirements as a Class ld Categorical
Exemption (CP#89-64). The Board hereby concurs in said determination.
