SUBJECT: Approval of Contract #26-177-2 with CuraCare County
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute on behalf of the
County, Contract #26-177-2 with CuraCare in the amount of $40, 000 for
the period September 1, 1989 - August 31, 1990 for ultrasound
services for Merrithew Memorial Hospital. This contract includes an
automatic six-month contract extension through February 28, 1991 in
the amount of $25, 000.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
Funding for this service is included in the FY 89-90 Enterprise Fund.
As appropriate, patients and/or third-party payors will be billed for
services.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND:
On September 29, 1988 the County Administrator approved and the
Purchasing Agent executed Contract #26-177 with CuraCare for
ultrasound services for Merrithew Memorial Hospital and Clinics. On
May 2 , 1989, the Board approved Contract Amendment #26-177-1 to
increase the contract payment limit to provide additional diagnostic
testing services. Contract #26-177-2 continues this service through
August 31, 1990.
The document has been approved by the Department's Contracts and
Grants Administrator in accordance with the guidelines approved by
the Board' s Order of December 1, 1981 (Guidelines for contract
preparation and processing, Health Services Department).
