IN THE MATTER OF )
Contra Costa County )
representatives visit to)
Taichung County, Taiwan ) RESOLUTION NO. 89/685
WHEREAS, Taichung County, Taiwan, Republic of China and
Contra Costa County, State of California, United States of
America, entered into a Sister County relationship on March 31,
1983 ; and
WHEREAS, the two counties affiliated as Sister Counties for
the purpose of promoting economic and cultural exchange in the
development of mutual understanding and cooperation between free
nations; and
WHEREAS, Magistrate Chen Keng-chin of Taichung County is
retiring on December 20, 1989 after serving two four year terms
and has invited representatives from Contra Costa County to visit
his County before his retirement; and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
of Contra Costa County, State of California, United States of
America, hereby appoints Supervisor and Mrs. Robert I . Schroder;
Assistant County Administrator Scott Tandy and Mrs. Scott Tandy;
District Attorney Gary Yancey and Mrs. Gary Yancey; Sheriff
Richard Rainey; President of Central Contra Costa Sanitary
District Mrs. Susan McNulty Rainey; Supervisor Schroder' s
Administrative Assistant Virginia Ramelli; Walnut Creek
Superintendent of Schools Dr. Kenneth Meinecke and Mrs. Kenneth
Meinecke; Planning Commissioner Larry Kaye; Catering Sales
Manager Mrs. Larry Kaye; President of The Northern California
Academy of Performing Arts Anita Lee Mixson; Solid Waste
Administrator Francise Fiorentino; Vice President of Schroder
Insurance Agency Robert S. Schroder and Mrs. Robert S. Schroder
as Ambassadors to represent the Board during this official event.
PASSED AND ADOPTED by unanimous vote of the Board members
present on this 24th day of October.
I hereby certify that the foregoing is a true and correct
copy of a resolution entered on the minutes of said Board of
Supervisors on the date aforesaid.
