IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS
OF
CONTRA-COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
In the Matter of Honoring )
ELEANOR PETERSON on the Occasion ) RESOLUTION NO. 89/682
of her Retirement )
Eleanor Peterson began working in Supervisor Sunne Wright
McPeak's office in 1983 in a volunteer capacity after having
been a volunteer staff member in the campaign to defeat the
Peripheral Campaign during 1981 and 1982. She became a
permanent employee in 1984.
Eleanor handled all situations with calm, friendliness,
patience, and humor. Eleanor was excellent in representing the
county and Supervisor McPeak with the community. Eleanor was
always available to assist in "unusual" assignments such as
serving as an unofficial photographer for Supervisor McPeak and
coordinating with Shelter, Inc. , for their recent celebrity
auction.
Eleanor tried to retire from the county in November 1986 and was
successful for a short time, only to be requested to return
again in 1988. She and her husband, Ed, finally decided it was
time to enjoy retirement and Eleanor, therefore, concluded
service on August 31, 1989.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors
honors ELEANOR PETERSON for her many years of service to Contra
Costa County and congratulates her on the occasion of her
retirement.
PASSED AND ADOPTED ON October 17, 1989, by a unanimous vote of
the board members present.
