HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10171989 - 1.17 h17 IN THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA-COSTA COUNTY, STATE OF CALIFORNIA In the Matter of Honoring ) ELEANOR PETERSON on the Occasion ) RESOLUTION NO. 89/682 of her Retirement ) Eleanor Peterson began working in Supervisor Sunne Wright McPeak's office in 1983 in a volunteer capacity after having been a volunteer staff member in the campaign to defeat the Peripheral Campaign during 1981 and 1982. She became a permanent employee in 1984. Eleanor handled all situations with calm, friendliness, patience, and humor. Eleanor was excellent in representing the county and Supervisor McPeak with the community. Eleanor was always available to assist in "unusual" assignments such as serving as an unofficial photographer for Supervisor McPeak and coordinating with Shelter, Inc. , for their recent celebrity auction. Eleanor tried to retire from the county in November 1986 and was successful for a short time, only to be requested to return again in 1988. She and her husband, Ed, finally decided it was time to enjoy retirement and Eleanor, therefore, concluded service on August 31, 1989. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors honors ELEANOR PETERSON for her many years of service to Contra Costa County and congratulates her on the occasion of her retirement.
