SPECIFIC REQUESTS(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) & BACKGROUND AND2
JUSTIFICATION
I. Recommended Action: ACCEPT Grant Deed dated November 26, 1988
from Suellen Lamorte, et al, APPROVE Right of Way Contract with
same, AUTHORIZE the Executive Director or his assign to sign the
contract on behalf of the Agency and AUTHORIZE the Auditor-
Controller to issue a check for $6, 000.00 payable to Fidelity
National Title Insurance Company, Escrow #492992. DIRECT the Real
Property Division to have the above referenced Grant Deed recorded
in the office of the County Recorder.
2. Financial Impact: The Agency has allocated for and has
sufficient funds available to consummate this transaction.
3. Reasons for Recommendations: The property is being acquired for
the widening of Treat Blvd. in conjunction with the Pleasant Hill
BART Station Redevelopment Project and is for a right turn
stacking lane that serves the west bound Treat Blvd. entrance to
the station..

4. Background_: This property was condemned for the project in mid-
1987, all improvements have been completed. The original
condemnation deposit of $72,050 was withdrawn, the additional
compensation set forth above represents interest due Grantor and
reimbursement for landscaping.
5. Consequences of Neqative Action: Failure to complete this
transaction would require the Agency to proceed with a
condemnation action to the property; a costly process with no
conceivable benefit to the Agency.
