SUBJECT: Authorizing Execution of JTPA II-A Vocational Training Agreements
With Two Service Providers
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Authorize the Executive Director, Contra Costa County Private
Industry Council, to:
(1) execute on behalf of the County standard form
Vocational Agreements #124 with William M. Spencer (an
individual : DBA Polished Apple)/The Huntington Learning
Center, 1399 Ygnacio Valley Road, Suite 3, Walnut Creek,
CA 94596 and #125 with Micro-Computer Schools, Inc. (A
Corporation), 1250 Pine Street, Suite 103, Walnut Creek,
CA 94596 for the term beginning January 31, 1989 and
ending June 30, 1989 to provide vocational training to
individually referred Job Training Partnership Act
(JTPA) participants, and at certain fixed fees as
specified in said agreement; and
(2) execute additional standard form Amendment Agreements
with both Huntington Learning Center and Micro-Computer
Schools, Inc. as may be needed for periodic revisions
such as adding or deleting a training course, changing
the tuition fees or to comply with changes in State or
Federal regulations.
II. FINANCIAL IMPACT:
None. 100 percent Federal funds.
III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
Allocation of Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA) Title II-A
funds for County's overall JTPA Vocational Training Programs
for program year 1988-89 was approved by the Board on April 5,
1988.
The herein requested action will add an additional Training
Institution to the existing list of Institutions (Contractors)
approved by the Board by its action of May 24, 1988 and will
allow the referral of JTPA-eligible participants for
vocational training. �r

Seymour, DBA Falcon Truck School
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKWtOUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDED ACTION; ,
Authorize the Executive Director, Contra Costa County
Private Industry Council to:
(1) execute on behalf of the County standard form Vocational
Agreement #123 with Edward Seymour (an individual) DBA
Falcon Truck School, 2402 Sacramento Street, Suite 203,
Vallejo, Ca. 94590 for the term beginning January 24, 1989
and ending June 30, 1989, to provide vocational training to
individually referred Job Training Partnership Act (JTPA)
participants, and at certain fixed fees as specified in said
agreement; and
(2) execute additional standard form Amendment Agreements with Edward
Seymour DBA Falcon Truck School as may be needed for periodic
revisions such as adding or deleting a training course, changing
the tuition fees or to comply with changes in State or Federal
regulations.
