Approval of Renewal Contract #26-109-14,1 with
SUBJECT: Staff Builders Services , Inc .
SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATION(S) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I . RECOMMENDED ACTION:
Approve and authorize the Chairman to execute on behalf of the
County, Renewal Contract #26-109-145, with Staff Builders
Services , Inc. for the period January 1 , 1989 through June 30 ,
1989 in the amount of $75 , 000 for provision of nursing registry
services at Merrithew Memorial Hospital and Clinics .
II . FINANCIAL IMPACT :
This contract is fully funded in the Health Services Department
Budget for 1988-89 through salary savings generated from vacant
Registered Nurse positions .
III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND :
On August 7 , 1988 the County Administrator ' s Office approved and
the Purchasing Agent executed Contract #26-109-12 (and on
October 25 , 19883, the Board approved Contract Amendment
Agreement #26-109-13) with Staff Builders Services ,. Inc . for
temporary licensed nursing personnel to assist Merrithew
Memorial Hospital and Clinics during peak loads , temporary
absences and emergency situations . Renewal Contract X626-109-14
continues these services for an additional six months .
This document has been approved by the Department ' s Contracts
and Grants Administrator in accordance with the guidelines
approved by the Board ' s Order of December 1 , 1981 (Guidelines
for contract preparation and processing, Health Services
Department ) .
