Verify, review, and correct the following estimates :
Basic Retirement Allowance: Calculate basic retirement
allowance for members requesting figures for retirement
planning .
Redeposits: Redeposit of prior membership forinerly
withdrawn. Compute amount of contributions member
paid during the prior membership and add interest that
would have been earned.
Pick Up: Compute cost of time prior to former or
current membership.
Public Service: Compute cost of military, federal/state,
or other county service time.
15% FINALS
Verify, review, and correct computions of service and
disability retirement allowances. Check that retirees '
file is complete and set up correctly.
2% ADJUSTMENTS
Verify, review, and correct calculations of adjustments
due to discrepancies in retirement contributions paid.
Upon completion, type C-Warrant , protect warrant , prepare
TC-53 for Auditor.
2% LETTERS
Review all letters pertaining to the retirement estimates
before they are sent to the members .
13% COUNSELING
Counsel members in person and on telephones seeking
information , retirement planning , etc.
1% DIVORCES
Accept subpoenas in divorce actions pertaining to
members. Compute present day values and perform
neccessary action designated by court orders .
1% ACTIVE DEATHS
Consult with designated beneficiaries of active member
deaths. Compile and gather neccessary data to finaliz.e
lump sum payment or monthly annuity to spouse, children ,
parents , etc.
1% MISCELLANEOUS
Work with various counties and agencies regarding salary ,
surveys , employer/employee ratio, union negotiations ,
reciprocal matters.

Opposite side of office, approximately 15 feet away from mine.
5. What are the most important assignments you perform and why?
Verifying and correcting retirement calculations. The figures are calculated by a
number of different factors and must be accurate. Employees are making life plans
based on the figures we are providing for them.
6. What is the most difficult or complex work you perform and why?
Verifying and correcting retirement calculations. In order to be accurate, I must
be knowledgable of the law and how to apply this to the calculations.
7. What parts of your job involve the greatest responsibility and why?
Counseling members on possible retirement. Checking the accuracy of my co—workers.
