FINANCIAL IMPACT Program costs and funding sources are listed with each program. The recommendations do not require increases in General Fund allocations. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND The Board of Supervisors requested the Hazardous Materials Commission to prioritize the 57 recommendations of the Hazardous Materials Strike Force. To do so,the Commission grouped the recommendations into programs (Task Force Recommendations listed under each program). Staff then developed an overview of each program including its name, description, authority, responsible department, current status, staffing requirements, program costs, funding sources and priority index (see attachment). Following extensive discussion, the Commission ranked each of the programs. In doing so, the Commission weighed many factors, including: ♦ public health risk reduction ♦ environmental risk reduction ♦ response to the hazardous incidents ♦ public education needs ♦ legal requirements ♦ funding Continued on attachment: yes Signature: Recommendation of Recommen ation of County Administrator Board Committee Approve Other: Signature(s): Action of Board on: JAN 1 7 1989 Approved as Recommended x Other Vote of Supervisors I HEREBY CERTIFY THAT THIS IS A TRUE AND CORRECT COPY OF AN ACTION TAKEN X Unanimous (Absent ) AND ENTERED ON THE MINUTES OF THE Ayes: Noes: BOARD OF SUPERVISORS ON DATE SHOWN.
