MICHAEL WALFORD, CHIEF ENGINEER DATE: JANUARY 10, 1989 SUBJECT: Approve Issuance of a Purchase Order to Pacific Bell for Telephone Facility Relocations for the Wildcat and San Pablo Creeks Project, Flood Control Zone No. 7 and Drainage Area 73 (#7527-6D8618, #7567-6D8633) Specific Request(s) or Recommendation(s) & Background & Justification I. RECOMMENDATION AUTHORIZE the issuance of a purchase order to Pacific Bell in an amount not to exceed $11 , 500 . 00 for telephone facility relocations for the Wildcat and San Pablo Creeks Project. II. FINANCIAL IMPACT The cost for telephone facility relocations are reimbursable from the Department of Water Resources at a rate of 70 percent. III. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND By Order of the Board of Supervisors, dated June 17, 1986, the Flood Control District approved an agreement with the Corps of Engineers the terms of which require the relocation of utility facilities for construction of the Wildcat and San Pablo Creeks Project. The required relocations include the above facilities owned by Pacific Bell. Upon completion of the work, Pacific Bell will provide an accounting of the actual costs of the relocation. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION The power lines would have to be protected and placed by the Corps' contractor and would cause construction delays and increase the construction costs of the Wildcat and San Pablo Creeks Project. 2
