HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 02141989 - 2.3 THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF CONTRA COSTA COUNTY, CALIFORNIA In the Matter of: ) Requesting a Third Judge ) for the Delta Judicial ) RESOLUTION NO. 89/ 103 District. ) WHEREAS the workload in the Delta Judicial . District, as measured by the Judicial Council of California, justified five judicial positions in 1989; and WHEREAS the -Delta Judicial District currently includes two judges and one commissioner, for a total of three . judicial positions; and WHEREAS the Board of Supervisors and the County Administrator agree with the Municipal Court that a third judge is required for the Delta Judicial District to bring the staffing to a total of four judicial positions; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE BOARD OF SUPERVISORS OF THE COUNTY OF CONTRA COSTA that the Board of Supervisors respectfully requests the Legislature of the State of California to enact legislation which would amend Government Code Section 73341 to increase the number of authorized judges for the Delta Judicial District from the present two to three, effective January 1, 1990 ; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Board of Supervisors respectfully requests the Legislature to provide additional funds pursuant to the Brown-Presley Trial Court Funding Act for such additional judge as is provided for in Government Code Section 77202; and BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County Administrator is authorized to seek an author for the legislation necessary to create the third judge in the Delta Judicial District. PASSED by unanimous vote of the Board Members present on this 14th day of February, 1989.
