BACKGROUND INFORMATION: This action is a follow-up to two community meetings I convened with the Dutch Slough Road residents, representatives from County Counsel, the County Administrator's Office, the Sheriff's Department, the Public Works Department, and the Fire Department regarding maintenance needs and traffic enforcement concerns on Dutch Slough Road in Bethel Island. After a very thorough and informative discussion of options available, it was determined the next approach would be to prepare a mail ballot to determine the willingness of the residents to increase assessments to the RD-4 District to fund traffic controls and police services for the area.
