MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: November 7, 1989 SUBJECT: Agreement to Provide Services to the City of Fremont Project No. : 4510-6X3034 SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION I. Recommended Action: APPROVE agreement to provide right of way services to the City of Fremont and AUTHORIZE Board Chair to sign said agreement on behalf of the County. II. Financial Impact: City of Fremont will pay actual costs for Real Property staff right of way services. III. Reasons for Recommendations/Background: The City of Fremont is planning various federally funded and Measure "B" funded road projects to be constructed during the next few years. The City is not "certified" to monitor such projects. The counties of Alameda and Contra Costa are the only "certified" agencies able to assist the City. Due to a shortage of available staff at Alameda County, the City desires to contract with Contra Costa County for right of way services since the County is "certified" to do the work as required by applicable State and Federal law and has staff available to lend assistance.
