MICHAEL WALFORD, PUBLIC WORKS DIRECTOR DATE: NOiEMBER 7, 1989 SUBJECT: LEASE OF OFFICE SPACE AT BUCHANAN FIELD AIRPORT Specific Request(s) or Recommendation(s) & Background & Justification RECOMMENDED ACTION: AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director to advertise for proposals to lease office space at Buchanan Field Airport. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The Airport will consider proposals which include a combination of fixed rent plus percentage of gross business. The minimum guarantee for the Airport, however, must be no less than $715 . 20 per month. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: The Manager If Airports recently vacated approximately 600 square feet of office space at Buchanan Field Airport. The Manager is seeking to lease this space. Preference will be given to aviation related uses! This could include such things as pilot shops or other direct services to the aviation community. There is no ramp access or ramp space available anywhere near the premises, therefore no flight school or any activity requiring direct ramp access will be considered. In addition, the available space does not lend itself to restaraunt/coffee shop activities a likely will not be considered acceptable.
