MICHAEL WALFORD, CHIEF ENGINEER DATE: November 1, 1988 SUBJECT: APPROVE Contract Change Order #2 for Drainage Area 56, Lindsey Basin, Project #7566-6D8462-86, W.O. #8462 , in the Oakley area. Specific Request(s) or Recommendation(s) & Background & Justification RECOMffiWDED ACTION. APPROVE Contract Change Order No. 2 in the amount of $96, 000 and, AUTHORIZE the Chief Engineer to execute it in order to compensate the contractor Oliver- de Silva, Inc. for work resulting from design changes. FINANCIAL IMPACT: The existing contingency fund is sufficient to cover this increase in cost. REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND: This change order relocates an irrigation line in conflict, modifies a bridge guardrail, and abandons a well. This change order and a previously approved change order collectively exceed $25, 000 and Board approval is required. CONSEQUENCES OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Lack of approval would preclude payment to the contractor for required work and prevent successful completion of the project.
