The Board of Supervisors on October 4, 1988 continued to this date the hearing on the appeal by the Walnut Creek City Council from the decision of the Contra Costa County Planning Commission approving the request by Merle Gilliland (applicant) and Treat Corners Partnership (owner) for approval of two office buildings with a combined total of 375,000 square feet (Development Plan 3012-88) , in the Pleasant Hill BART Station area. Karl Wandry, Community Development Department, advised the Board that his department had been in contact with the City of Walnut Creek staff and the applicant and applicant' s representative, and that all parties had agreed to the recommendation by the Community Development Department for a two week continuance of this matter. The Chairman opened the public hearing. Merle Gilliland, P.O. Box 215, Moraga, applicant, commented that without the full Board present he desired to have the two week continuance and would certainly look for the Board' s support in upholding the Planning Commission' s decision on the project. He commented that he believed that the City of Walnut Creek' s appeal was on the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) rather than on the project itself. He advised that he would make a full presentation in two weeks. Chairman Schroder requested clarification from staff on time limits for hearing this matter. Victor Westman, County Counsel, advised that he was not aware of any time limit to hear this item. Karl Wandry advised that time was not running on this matter relative to the AB 884 (Permit Streamlining Act) question. Kevin Roberts, Community Development Director for the City of Walnut Creek, 1666 North Main Street, Walnut Creek, commented that he would make comments when the matter was before the Board in two weeks as long as the public hearing would remain open at that time. On recommendation of Supervisor Torlakson, IT IS BY THE BOARD ORDERED that the hearing on the above matter is CONTINUED to November 1, 1988 at 2: 00 p.m. in the Board Chambers, 651 Pine Street, Room 107 Martinez . 1 hereby certify that this is a true and correct copy of Ori Dept. :. • Clerk of the Board an actio: taken and entered on the ninutes of the; Orig. p Board of,ufe sors on the date shown. cc: Community Development County Counsel ATTESTED: City of Walnut Creek PHIL BATCHELOR, Clerk of ihe Board Merle Gilliland of Supervisors and County Administrator Treat Corners Partnership O By , Deputy
