BACKGROUND Attached is a copy of Barbara Shaw' s- application -for appointment to the State Job Training Coordinating Council or the Employment Training Panel. Barbara has served as Contra Costa PIC Chair for two years and has exhibitied exceptional dedicaton and leadership. All of California, as well as Contra Costa County, would benefit from Barbara serving on one of the state boards. An endorsement by the full Board of Supervisors and a letter of recommendation to the Governor would be very helpful since there is stiff competition for appointment to these boards.
