SUBJECT: Amendments to County Election Campaign Ordinance
On January 19, 1988 the Board deferred action on the
proposed amendments to the County Election Campaign Ordinance and
directed County Counsel to discuss with the County Elections
Supervisor his concerns relative to his duties under the proposed
amended Ordinance.
The Board received a report dated January 27, 1988 from
Victor J. Westman, County Counsel, advising that the proposed
amended ordinance has been revised to provide for separation of
committees related to campaign purposes and those committees
related to other purposes.
a
Supervisor Tom Powers requested that the Board receive a
written report from the Elections Supervisor relative to the
proposed revision. He also noted that the Board had previously
discussed a possible increase in the upper limit on campaign
donations and requested a review of that issue.
Board members being in agreement, IT IS ORDERED that the
proposed Election Campaign Ordinance Amendment is REFERRED to the
Elections Supervisor for a report to the Board on the revised
Section III relative to separation of committees for exemption
purposes.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Elections Supervisor is
