Bridge 7941- 1 .7 Replacement , Project No . 0662- 6R4079-

Specific Request ( s ) or Recommendation ( s ) & Background &
Justification
I . RECOMMENDED ACTION:
APPROVE the Plans and Specifications for the Camino Diablo Bridge
7941- 1 . 7 Replacement Project and ADVERTISE for bids to be
received on Thursday , March 24 , 1988 , at 2 : 00 p .m .
DIRECT the Clerk of the Board to publish the Notice to
Contractors in accordance with Section 20392 of the Public
Contract Code , and
DIRECT the Director of Community Development to file a Notice of
Exemption with the County Clerk .
AUTHORIZE the closure of Camino Diablo 12oad to through traffic
from Vasco Road to Byron Highway for approximately 15 weeks with
the exception of emergency vehicles and local residential
traffic .
II . FINANCIAL IMPACT:
The estimated contract cost of the project is $ 347 , 000 . It is to
be funded 80% by the Hazardous Bridge Rehabilitation Program and
20% County Funding .
III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATION/BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Director has filed with the Board of Supervisors
the Plans and Specifications for the Camino Diablo Bridge 7941-
1 .7 Replacement Project .

The general prevailing rates of wages , which shall be the minimum
rates paid on this project , have been filed with the Clerk of the
Board and copies will be made available to any interested party
upon request .
It has been determined that this project is exempt from CEQA
requirements as a Class 2 Categorical Exemption . This project
has been determined to be exempt from 65402 review in accordance
with the Board of Supervisors Resolution 81/ 522 because the
project involves a road alignment project of a minor nature . The
Board hereby concurs in said determination .
