SPECIFIC REQUEST(S) OR RECOMMENDATIONS) & BACKGROUND AND JUSTIFICATION
I. RECOMMENDATION
APPROVE Design Development Documents for the Remodeling At 45
Civic Avenue, Pittsburg, For Delta Court Expansion, prepared
pursuant to a Consulting Services Agreement for architectural
services dated September 1, 1987, with John Friedman,
architect, subject to Architectural Division Review Comments
dated January 13 , 1988; AUTHORIZE the architect to proceed
with the construction phase of services.
II . FINANCIAL IMPACT
The fee for architectural services and the estimated initial
construction contract cost will not be changed by approval of
these Design Development Documents.
III . REASONS FOR RECOMMENDATIONS/BACKGROUND
A. The master plan for Delta Municipal Court was completed
in .June, 19.87 , and approved by the County Administrator
and Delta Municipal Court.
B. The approved master plan recommends . a phased remodeling
program which will, ultimately, replace existing crowded,
inadequate and obsolete conditions with adequate,
efficient accommodations for current needs.
C. The Design Development Documents, as well as subsequent
services provided under the consulting services
agreement, will implement the first phase of remodeling
recommended by the master plan.
D. The Design Development Documents to be approved are:
1. "Outline Specifications" , dated December 29, 1987,
annotated January 13, 1988 by County, Architectural
Division, 82x11 in. , consisting of 36 pages.

Architectural Division of the General Services Department
at 1220 Morello Avenue, Suite 100, Martinez.
F. This Board Order will permit John Friedman to proceed
with construction documents, based on the approved Design
Development Documents. On completion of construction
documents, the Board will be asked to approve them and to
authorize solicitation of bids for construction.
